Citroën's Ami
with a whopping 46 mile range EV, that’s technically NOT
a Car but designated a “quadricycle”, to evade Federal Safety Regulations.

The one thing it’s not, is a car.
Yes, it looks like one, having 4 wheels & all, but the Citroen Ami is actually designated as a quadricycle, neatly sidestepping a whole host of regulations needed to be classed
as a grown-up vehicle.
So you get a tiny 458kg (including the battery pack) ‘urban mobility object’

The Ami is in a segment of 1, which means its competition extends to bicycles and the act of walking.

Where is this good for?
Urban areas they say.
What Urban areas don't have METRO’s, Buses, UBER and BOLT?

that are avail. at a Sheet Metal fabrication Shop I've found
in Gaia-Portugal.

See where the top of each leg meets the Wooden Top?
Notice how the top of each leg is "notched"?
(wood dudes call it "mortised" or joined) !

Brilliant! (as the Brits are prone to exclaim!)

Equally note the two (2) -round metal thingies
on the horizontal spreader?
Those are a slick joinery device
many Scandanavian's designers (like IKEA)
use to join parts together;
it's a cam-lock, that, as you twist it-
torques a metal fastener
that secures the Wooden top, through a vertical hole
in the spreader, to pull down the top to secure it
to The Spreader!

Great Table-designed by René Herbst in 1935 - predating the similar leg shape of Jean Prouve’s , iconic Table Leg design.

This Beautiful Table, from 1935,
is distinguished by the shape of the legs,
no longer in steel tubing, but in Stainless
that's folded (Press-Braked....."not-so-easy-to-fabricate" )
in the precut pattern to yield a shape of a triangle, &
attached under the wooden or
honeycomb cement top "banded" with a steel frame.

It was part of the furnishings of René Herbst's
own Apartment,
rue de Chateaubriand, in Paris.

today I was asked to replicate one of these
chairs for a clients client.
Upon further examination, we noted the
"stripped" chair was made of thin tubing, and obviously made more recently than the
chair with the cushions attached.
Also, the older chair? was made from solid bar- and
as a further sign of its "antique-ness" we noted the upholstery was applied with tacks, NOT staples as
used later in Upholstery.
(...now?.... I'm a Furniture Archeologist! )
